Mary Ellen Baker

IRON MOUNTAIN Mary Ellen "Mae" Baker of Iron Mountain passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at her residence at the age of 97 years. She was born on June 13, 1919 at Dillard, MO daughter of the late James Hobert "Hob" and Bertie (Askins) Skaggs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend J. E. Baker, five brothers Luiea Skaggs, Heasel Skaggs, James Skaggs, Ray Skaggs and Georgia Skaggs, three sisters Bonnie Phegley, Addlean Weiss and Barbara Wisdom.

Mrs. Baker was a proud homemaker and a devoted ministers wife, a mother, grandmother and dear friend to many. She was a faithful member of the Iron Mountain Assembly of God, where for many years she humbly served alongside her husband as the Pastor's wife ministering as God called her to.

She is survived by two children, Ronald E. (& Diana) Baker of Iron Mountain and Patsy M. (& Bob) Lacey of Iron Mountain, a brother Jesse Skaggs of Iron Mountain, a sister Shirley Mitchell of Bismarck, four grandchildren; Rick Baker, Doug Baker, Deanna Wisdom, and Nancy Neel, six great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Iron Mountain Assembly of God Church with a funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by the Reverend Matthew Prihoda. Interment will be in the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Share your memories and leave condolences online at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
