PARK HILLS Miford "Mac" Massey of Park Hills, formerly of Farmington passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his residence at the age of 74 years. He was born on November 12, 1941 at Alcoa, Arkansas son of the late B. Fairel and Verna L. (Anderson) Massey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-grandson Charles "Chucky" Pritchet and two brothers Millis and Wako Massey.
Prior to retirement Mac was an assembly line worker for General Motors Corporation and had also served as a Union Rep for the UAW while working there. He was a member of the First Church of God of Desloge. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and at one time he was a competitive coon hunter and breeder of champion Blue Tick hounds.
He is survived by his wife Zada (Valeck) Massey of Park Hills, three-children Randy Massey and Gregory (& Tracey) Massey all of Ravenden, Arkansas , and Teresa (& Randy) Coin of Lake City, Arkansas, a step-daughter Virginia A. (& Stanley) King of Farmington, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother Afton (& Patsy) Massey of Jonesboro, Arkansas, two sisters, Loretta (& Dean) Taylor of Kennett and Predith (& Gary) Hudgens of Wentzville, a sister-in-law Gloria (& Don) Shaw of Farmington, and numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.
Friends may call at the Cozean memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday after 7 a.m and continue until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend David Aubuchon officiating. Interment will be at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of floral tributes the family would prefer memorials be made to one of the following: the American Cancer Society, Preferred Hospice, The Farmington Pet Adoption Center, First Church of God of Desloge or the Southeast Missouri Family Violence Council Women's Shelter.
