Artie A. Wilson of Farmington passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Presbyterian Manor, at the age of 92 years. She was born on August 8, 1918, in Kentucky, the daughter of the late Artie Annie (Carrico) and Simeon Monroe Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Sr., six sisters, Sr. Theresa Marie Payne, Sr. Mary Charles Payne, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Payne, Stella Miller, Rita Duke and Carlotta Lottie Moore, and three brothers, Monroe Simon Payne, Gerald Payne and Lockhart Payne. Artie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington. She worked for many years in the Emergency Room at Mineral Area Hospital, then after retirement she worked at the Farmington Wal-Mart. Artie had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Farmington VFW Post. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ragsdale of Bonne Terre, two sons, James Wilson Jr. (Karen) of Doe Run and Wayne Wilson (Donna) of Farmington, five grandchildren, Tiffany, Tara, Billy David, Brooke and Joshua, two step-grandsons, Sean and Tommy, and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kristian and Kaedence. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010. A Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
