BONNE TERRE Benjamin "Ben" Charles Arcand passed away on March 21, 2020 in Bonne Terre at the age of 67. He was born on January 28, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas to Modonna Mae (Martin) Arcand and the late Wilfred Charles Arcand. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Morton, brother, Bob Arcand and a niece, Jacqueline Hampton. Ben worked most of his life as a salesman. It was said that he was such a good salesman that he could sell ice to an Alaskan or a red popsicle to a lady wearing white gloves! He was also an unbelievable story teller! In his spare time Ben loved to camp and canoe on the Jacks Fork River any time he could. He also loved sports and played football and basketball among other sports. Ben was a daredevil, he loved to high dive, scuba dive and he parachuted out of planes when he was younger. A loyal friend to many, and generous to everyone, were his trademark qualities. One of Bens favorite quotes was "Ill see you on the other side Pops". Ben is survived by his mother, Modonna Arcand of Bonne Terre MO, son, Benjamin (Brandy) Arcand of Independence Mo, daughter, Brandi Barnhouse (Mike) of Doe Run MO, brother, Joey Arcand (Des) of Bonne Terre MO, and sister, Karen Vennard (Jim) of Lake St. Louis MO. He had one grandson, three granddaughters and numerous nephews and nieces. Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date for this Spring or Summer.
