Betty “Colleen” Minton, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing at the age of 91.
She was born on August 25, 1934, in Rector, Arkansas, to Clyde and Pauline (Snow) Lamb.
Colleen is survived by her loving children: Cathy (Mike Kottrell) Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Bob (Lisa) Minton of Atlanta, Georgia; and Mandy (George) Blackmon of Farmington, Missouri. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren—Brock Blackmon, Cade Blackmon, Jack Blackmon, Jesus Morales, Max Minton, Audrey Minton, Zac Polk, Jake Polk, and Cayla Johnson—and seven great-grandchildren: Adrianna Polk, Camden Polk, Ethan Glore, Mikiah Polk, Roman Polk, Millie Morales, and Theo Morales. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Patsy Lamb of St. Charles, Missouri, and June Lamb of Kentucky, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Gene Minton; her daughter, Paula Renee Minton; her granddaughter, Erin Polk; her siblings, Cindy (the late Dave) Stehr, Jack Lamb, Joe “Pat” Lamb and Charles Ray Lamb; and her longtime companion, John Pigg.
Colleen devoted over twenty years to caring for children in her home, touching countless lives with her kindness and compassion. She was a proud member of the Elks Lodge #1765 in Farmington. A talented homemaker and cook, she also found joy in gardening.
She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Private inurnment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
