Bonnie Juanita Baird of Doe Run passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the age of 80 years. She was born on June 15, 1930, at Doe Run, daughter of the late Joseph Lewis Wigger, Jr. and Edna Mae (Manes) Wigger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six sisters, Faye Drake, Frances Wigger, Georgia VanSickle, Mildred Nolan and Mary Lesh and Edna Jennings and a brother, Millard "Bud" Wigger. Bonnie grew up in Doe Run where she graduated from high school in 1948. She worked in Rice Stix Shirt Factory in Farmington and went on to work for Amalgamated Clothing Union in Memphis, TN. While there she traveled extensively organizing the factory workers for the union. She will be remembered in later years as the secretary for Doe Run Elementary School, the W. L. Johns Kindergarten Center and later the Truman Kindergarten Center. She retired in 1995 and devoted her time to her family. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking, watching Cardinal baseball games and most importantly spending time with her beloved grandsons. Bonnie is survived by her son, Sam Baird and wife Lisa of Herculaneum, a daughter, Kelly Goodson and her husband Terry of Bismarck, two grandsons LCpl. Nathan Baird, USMC and Cody Goodson of Bismarck, a sister, Patsy Cox and a brother, Melvin "Pete" Wigger both of Farmington, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 14 followed by a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jay Lacey officiating.
