Brenda June Dettmer

Brenda June Dettmer of Terre Du Lac passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital on July 15, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born in Bay Town, Texas on April 26, 1955, to the late John Beasley and June (Feltz) Beasley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Billy Jo Stricklin and a brother, Jimmy Dale Beasley.

Brenda was a 1973 graduate of Central High School. She married the love of her life, David Dettmer at a young age and they spent their young married life in Germany where he was stationed in the Army. When David and Brenda returned to the area, she furthered her education and became a certified dietary manager. She was instrumental in opening up the kitchen at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Park Hills where she worked for 21 years. Later she went to work for the Missouri Department of Corrections and retired from there in 2016 after thirteen years.

Brenda loved to go fishing and spend time at the casinos. She traveled with David in their RV going to many destinations including Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Having fun with her grandchildren was her favorite thing to do.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, David Dettmer; one son, Troy Dettmer; three grandsons, Aristotle Butler, Skylar Dettmer and Braden (Nicole) Dettmer; one great grandson on the way; sisters, Bonnie (Mike) Johnson, Carol (Hoyt) Couch, Beverly (Richard) Watkins and Judy (Bobby) McIntire. Numerous other relatives also survive.
