FARMINGTON – Carol Jane Deason passed away July 1, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. She was born in Festus, Missouri, on December 29, 1940, to the late Oscar Christian Feilner and Ines Elizabeth (Amos) Feilner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill R. Deason; a daughter, Deborah Cocoran; a son, Matthew Deason, and 5 siblings, Evelyn Martin, Richard Feilner, Virgil Feilner, Dennis Feilner, and Bessie Rosenhoffer.

Carol spent her growing-up years in Herculaneum where she attended school. One of her first jobs in life was working as a bank teller at Chipewa Bank. In 1961, she married Bill R. Deason at Barnhart, Missouri. A hard worker, Carol worked various jobs during her adult life, as a cook at a daycare and school. Also, she was a manager for a residential care facility. She was an avid Bingo player, board game and card player, and game show enthusiast. Taking trips south, enjoying seafood, and going to the beach were favorite pastimes of Carol’s. She enjoyed playing games and spending time with her grandchildren, as well. She was a member of Open-Heart Assembly in Farmington.

Survivors include her children, Donna (Dennis) Allan and Timothy Deason; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Phyllis Thomas.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 5 – 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Kevin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
