Carolyn K Rigdon, of Farmington, Missouri, entered eternal rest on February 16, 2026, at her home at the age of 82. She was born in Ironton, Missouri, on 9/4/1943 to the late Morgan Lee Smith and Barbara (Tullock) Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, in 2011; a sister, Barbara Lee Hahn, and brother-in-law, Jim Rigdon.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Michael (Stephanie) Rigdon and Scott Rigdon; grandchildren, Landon (Catherine) Rigdon, Madison Rigdon, and Alex Rigdon; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Lane Rigdon; a brother, Morgan (Beverly) Smith, and a sister-in-law, Carol (Duwane) Williams.

A lifelong resident of Farmington, Carolyn attended St. Joseph Catholic School from 1st grade through her graduation in 1961. She went on to Hickey Business College, where she studied secretarial science. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Tom Rigdon, her schoolmate and high school sweetheart. Carolyn spent her career working as the administrative assistant to the Director of Nursing at Southeast Missouri Mental Health, where she retired after 37 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing with Tom on trips to the lake. She always looked forward to playing bunco with her close circle of friends. Entertaining her grandchildren and spending quality time making memories with her family by the backyard pool they built in the yard was an all-time favorite pastime. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed canning vegetables. A lifelong faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Carolyn served on various committees there during her life.

A visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, with Father Gerson Parra as celebrant.
