Charles F. Baumgartner, Sr.

FARMINGTON Charles F. Baumgartner Sr. passed away April 6, 2016 at Glendale Gardens Nursing Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 90. He was born February 6, 1926 at Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina A. "Peggy" (Fraser) Baumgartner in 1998; infant daughter, Caroline Baumgartner; a son, Charles F. "Chuck" Baumgartner, Jr. and grandson, Bryan Baumgartner.

Charles attended Catholic School in Ste. Genevieve and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. During most of his adult life he worked at Consolidated Freightways as a dock hand. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a friend to all. A faithful and devout Catholic, Charles had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington for more than sixty years. His children will fondly remember him as a prayer warrior who encouraged them to pray daily.

Survivors include his children, Mark (Leslie) Baumgartner, Tina (Tom) Kile, and Marilyn (Silver) Binongial; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Gene Bay; and special friend Mike Duncan. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father James Dyer as celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
