Charles Francis Thomure

July 6, 1937 — March 13, 2016

FARMINGTON Charles Thomure of Farmington, passed away March 13, 2016 at Stockhoff Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born July 6, 1937 in Farmington. He was raised from the age of four by Clark "Cotton" and Ruby Stacy who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Gene Thomure, Ralph Thomure, Johnny Dale Thomure, Walter Thomure and Wendell Thomure and one sister, Margie Cox.

After completing school, "Chuck" as most knew him, went on to proudly serve his country in the U. S. Army. After returning to civilian life he worked in several professions and worked in many different states. He worked in manufacturing in Birmingham, AL for many years. After retirement he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He was a very active member of the Farmington Post of the VFW as well as the American Legion.

Survivors include two children, Andy (Amy) Thomure of St. Joseph, MO and Jacquie (Stuart) Hubbard of Mechanicsville, VA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald (Karen) Thomure of the state of Michigan and Eddie (Barb) Stacy of Fredericktown; three sisters, Delores Schantz of the state of California, Carol (Cecil) Bollinger and Sharon (Mike) Mell, all of Farmington; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 17, 2016 beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Brother Joe Pogue officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill United Baptist Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
