FARMINGTON Curtis Elwood Irvin of Farmington passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Community Manor at the age of 70 years. He was born on October 17, 1945 at Bessville son of the late Hattie Mae (Hale) & Shellie Roy Irvin, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Irvin, three brothers Pearley Irvin, Shellie Irvin, Jr., and Jerome Irvin, and one sister Beulah McKenna.
Curtis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. For 22 years he was the co-owner and operator of the Farmington Welding & Fabricating Company. He was a long-time and faithful member of the Farmington First Assembly of God where he served wherever and whenever he was needed. Curtis enjoyed the work he did and spent a lot of time doing it, but occasionally he enjoyed a good Cardinals Baseball Game and in past years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Connie R. (Owen) Irvin of Farmington, a son Brian (& Julie) Irvin of Farmington, a granddaughter Maya Irvin of Farmington, two step-grandsons Connor and Eli Eckhoff of Farmington, three brothers Sonny (& Edna) Irvin of Marble Hill, Clarence Irvin of Springdale, Arkansas, and Ronny (& Jean) Irvin of Patton, four sisters, Lola Gipson of Marquand, Violet Hazelwood of Farmington, Mary Ferguson of New Jersey, and Glenda Davis of DeSoto as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends and neighbors.
Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9-11 a.m at the Farmington First Assembly of God. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Kevin Davis officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at the Old Union Cemetery near Marble Hill. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington First Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
