Daryl B. Hardy, of Farmington, Missouri, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Camelot Nursing Center at the age of 89. He was born on April 6, 1937, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to the late Walter and Christina (Bannister) Hardy.

Daryl is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Pat (Whaley) Hardy; his children, Christina Thomure (Charles), Cindy Sullivan (Mike), and Don Hardy (Lisa); his grandchildren, Katie Stewart (Matt), Chip Thomure (Linda), Adam Thomure (Katie), Jake Thomure (Jenny), Michael Sullivan (Holly), Heather Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan (Amanda), Kyle Sullivan (Whitney), Collin Sullivan (Emilie), DJ Hardy (Jaysa), Brendon Hardy (Karoline) and Travis Hardy, Tim Hardy, Tracy Hardy; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, Daryl was preceded in death by his son, Daryl David Hardy, and his sister, Sue Stone-Wade.

Daryl was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Farmington. He especially loved one-on-one witnessing and sharing the message of the Kingdom with others.Throughout his life, he owned and operated Hardy’s Family Shell and Truck Repair Shop in Desloge, taught auto mechanics at VoTech, farmed and raised cattle and poultry, and worked as a land developer. His strong work ethic, practical knowledge, and many talents were evident in all that he did.

Daryl enjoyed socializing and never missed an opportunity for a good conversation. He had a great appreciation for history and enjoyed spending time watching westerns. He also found fulfillment in mentoring others, offering his knowledge, experience, and guidance to those around him. Above all, Daryl's family was the center of his life. He treasured the time spent with his family and the many special memories they created together throughout the years.
