FARMINGTON - David W. Brann of Farmington entered eternal rest on May 3, 2025, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 94. He was born on December 16, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late George Brann and Sadie (Robinson) Brann.
David is survived by his children: Rick (Rochelle) Brann, Teri Duncan, Susan (Dan) McCarron, Matt (Janice Roney) Brann, and Jim (Lupe) Brann; and his sisters-in-law, Pam Brann and Anita Brann. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Rhoda (Bird) Brann; his grandchildren, Tiffany McCarron, Carmen Stroud, and Landon Weiss; his siblings, GW (Polly) Brann, Tommy Brann, Beatrice (Richard) Strahle, and Kenneth Brann; and his son-in-law, Don Duncan Jr.
David graduated from Mineral Area College with an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he spent his time on the USS Surfbird (AM-383) during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked as a time study engineer at Brown Shoe Manufacturing for many years.
David was a devoted member of Meadow Heights Church in Fredericktown. In his free time, he found joy in gardening, relaxing on the porch, listening to St. Louis Cardinals games on the radio, and starting each day with early morning phone calls to family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jeremiah Dietiker. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre with military honors.
