Dennis Lynn Gordon, of Farmington, Missouri, passed away on February 5th, 2026, at Camelot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, at the age of 82. He was born on June 18, 1943, in Elvins, Missouri.
Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Smith (Michael), and Tonya Johnson; his grandchildren, Jory Johnson, Julian Johnson, and Madison M. Smith. He is also survived by his half-siblings; Phil, Paul, Delbert, and Laura.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; Joel Earl Gordon, II, of Park Hills, Missouri, and Geraldine Genevieve Archambo. He was also preceded in death by his full brother, Stephen Heist (Gordon), of Canaan, Vermont (formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado); a half-sibling; Jimmy; and a son-in-law; Keith Johnson (Tonya).
Dennis first had a career as a photographer, photojournalist, and sports columnist at the local newspaper. After this career, he became a mill supervisor at Cominco Lead Mines, and was successful at this career path for over 20 years.
Dennis was always a hard worker, and gave everything he had when he was at work. He was always working his mind by tinkering with computers, fixing things, and keeping up to date with the latest and greatest that technology had to offer.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dennis was also an avid music lover, albeit he did not play music himself. What he did enjoy was recording Casey Kasem’s Top 40 each Sunday, and giving this as a gift for his daughters. Music was always around him, and he loved seeing all of his family members playing and writing music.
Later in life, he got the chance to travel with his long-lost brother, Stephen, who worked as a musician on a cruise ship. He did travel on his own, but loved being at his brother’s side when he did travel.
Dennis was loved by his siblings, his daughters, his grandchildren, and by the people who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Share your memories and condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
