Dorthy Marie Estes-Hoehn

Dorothy Marie Estes - Hoehn passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at the age of 88. She was born on July 17, 1924, at Bonne Terre, daughter of the late Arthur and Mamie (Barron) Counts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Victor Estes in 1980. Dorothy grew up in Flat River where she graduated in 1942. During World War II she was proud to have worked in the Small Arms Plant in St. Louis. In 1963 she went to work for the Leadbelt Water Company of Desloge where she worked until her retirement in 1985. "Dot" enjoyed participating in various sports including tennis, bowling and golf. She also loved watching all professional sporting events. Her family will most remember her as a master chef in the kitchen. Survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Hoehn; son, David Estes and wife, Sandra of Florissant and daughter, Sherry Basler and husband, Francis of Desloge; two grandchildren, Wendy Schulz and husband, Tom of St. Louis and Ryan Basler and wife, Sarah of Bonne Terre; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a step-son Roger Hoehn and wife, Jenny; two step-daughters, Suzanne Greminger and husband, Dick and Carla Miranda. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, November 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 1 p.m. with Reverend Scott Hall officiating. Interment will be at St Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
