FARMINGTON – Doug W. Botkin, a devoted husband, proud father, loyal friend, and hard worker, passed away peacefully at his home on May 2, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him at the age of 52. He was born on October 15, 1972, in Farmington, Missouri, to the late Jimmy W. Botkin and Carol A. (Herrold) Botkin.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Heather (Bannister) Botkin; his children, Braden Botkin and Brenna Botkin; his mother-in-law, Bess Ann Bannister; and his brother-in-law, Aaron Bannister and wife Maggie. He also leaves behind his siblings, Terri Eatock and husband Jim, Debra Ann Morrison, and Tracy Moss; and many nieces and nephews, Bobby Moss, Derek Moss, Sean Wiley, Jason Hall, Stephanie Leann, Deegan Bannister, Colyer Bannister, and Mylee Bannister. Doug was blessed with a large extended family and many lifelong friends, all of whom brought joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Carol Botkin; his fathers-in-law, Tom Bannister and Jimmy Cunningham; and his niece, Cynthia Hanshew.

Doug graduated from Farmington High School with the Class of 1991 and went on to earn an associate degree in general studies from Mineral Area College. He worked at Lead Belt Materials for nearly 20 years and then continued his career with the City of Farmington Street Department, serving as Assistant Supervisor for 14 years. Doug was also a proud member of the Farmington Elks Lodge #1765.

Doug was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, mowing the yard, spending time on the beach, relaxing in the garage, watching sports, and enjoying a cold Miller Lite. Above all, his greatest joy came from time spent with his family.
