Dr. James Conrad "Jim" Spengler

FARMINGTON Dr. James Conrad "Jim" Spengler of Farmington, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Community Manor in Farmington at the age of 82 years. He was born August 2, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania son of the late Lenard Roy and Helen B. (Boyce) Spengler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Marianne E. Ladd.

Jim taught in various parochial schools in St. Louis, and at St. Joseph Parish School in Bonne Terre. He was also a Professor of Speech and English at Mineral Area College for several years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, a member of The Little Theater Guild and of Delta Psi Omega and Phi Theta Kappa and was a past member of the board of directors of the Missouri Community College Association. Jim enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with friends and colleagues. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. To his many friends, Jim left this message:

"Any good I may have accomplished had much to do with those who loved me. I thank you all for that. Know that I admit my faults, and ask your forgiveness if ever I wronged you, but also know I tried to be a good person. Till we meet again know that you are loved from above."

Friends and neighbors may gather to visit, share and remember Jim's life at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, February 4, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. Chapel services will be held on Friday, February 5th at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Fr. James Dyer officiating. Interment will be in the New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials, if desired may be made to the Mineral Area College Foundation or to Missouri KidsFirst.
