Duane “Rick” Curtiss, of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, entered eternal rest on May 11, 2026, at his residence, at the age of 65. He was born on March 13, 1961, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Duane Curtiss and Judy Tarrant.

Rick is survived by his children, Richard Curtiss, Ronnie Curtiss, Rebecca Valley (Paul), Savannah "Abygaile" Wilson-Curtiss, Danni Curtiss, and Kevin Curtiss; his grandchildren, Jillian, Anthony, Kaytlin, Jon Jon, Ethan, and Lilly; his great-grandson, Eli; his sister, Ann Newton (Dave); and his best friend, Billie Curtiss (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends who will forever cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Samuel Curtiss, and his brother, Daniel Curtiss.

Rick was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh wherever he went. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, camping, hunting, playing his guitar, and spending time outdoors mowing his lawn or enjoying nature. A generous soul, Rick was always willing to help others and give to those in need. He found his connection to the universe through the beauty and peace of nature, and his free spirit, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
