Carl Edward Ed Pruitt of Farmington passed away Monday, December 22, 2008, at the age of 73 years. He was born March 4, 1935, in Charleston, MO, son of the late Duard Lee and Lucy Lee (Roberts) Pruitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Pruitt. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Farmington, a member of the Farmington Lions Club and the American Legion Post 416. He served his country as a paratrooper in the U. S. Army and worked for Sunnen Products in St. Louis as a tool and die maker in the machine industry. Carl is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Pansy Pruitt of Farmington, two daughters, Lisa (Keith) Cole, and Linda Schwartzkopf both of Affton, five grandchildren, Matthew Scroggins, Justin Cole, Michael, Lindsay, and Alexandra Schwartzkopf, 3 brothers, Duard Pruitt of Ohio, Delbert Pruitt of Kentucky, and Albert Pruitt of Kansas, two sisters, Edith Ervin of Cape Girardeau, and Mary Gifford of the State of California. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 26, from 4-8 p.m. with an American Legion Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Saturday with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Dr. William Miller and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Farmington First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
