Edward Anthony Gavlik passed away July 13, 2026, at his home in Ste. Genevieve County at the age of 60. He was born January 8, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Edward Joseph Gavlik and Patricia May (Clavin) Gavlik.
Ed was a resident of the Farmington area since the age of seven. A 1984 graduate of Farmington High School, he went on to Southeast Missouri University where he attained his bachelor’s degree in Logistics. He enjoyed a long successful career in the trucking industry. He traveled and sold tractor trailer units from 1988 to the present.
He loved his vehicles, especially his collection of pick-up trucks. Living in the country on his farm near his pond made him very happy. When he could find the time, he liked to mow his property. He enjoyed frequent camaraderie with his good circle of buddies.
Ed will be fondly remembered for his kind heart and being a devoted family man.
He will be sorely missed by all those who loved him, including his wife, Kim (Thurman) Gavlik; children, Justin (Cathy) Holmes, Jeremy Holmes, Ashley Day, and Hannah (Patrick MaKohin) Mason; special grandsons, Cooper Holmes and Urban Day and three granddaughters, Caitlyn, Abby and Madison. Also, he leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy.
There will be a memorial gathering at Cozean Memorial Chapel on August 14, 2026, from 5 – 8 p.m. On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the family will have a Celebration of Life beginning at 4 p.m. at the Gavlik Farm at 8996 State Route AA, Farmington, MO 63640. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the Education Fund for Cooper and Urban, c/o Belgrade State Bank, 515 West Karsch Blvd, Farmington, MO 63640.
