Eldon Dwain Barnes

FARMINGTON - Eldon Dwain “Stub” Barnes of Farmington, Missouri, age 79, passed away September 16, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Hospital. Eldon was born in Redford, Missouri, on April 25, 1946, to the late Joe and Goldie (Fox) Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah, and a daughter-in-law, Jessica Raylene Barnes.

Eldon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Denise (Hulsey) Barnes; his sons, Jason Barnes (Tara) of New Hamburg, Missouri, Jeffrey Barnes (Jessica) of Doe Run, Missouri and Timothy Hulsey of Desloge, Missouri; grandchildren, Luke Barnes, David Posey, Jaxon Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Jewel Hulsey and Maddy Parks; a great grandson, Waylon Parks; a brother, Donald Barnes and many other family members and friends.

Eldon retired from the Missouri Highway Department in 1998. He spent many happy years piddling on his ground in Centerville, Missouri. He loved doing work around the property on his tractor, feeding the fish in his pond and watching wrestling on television, playing pool, and doing woodworking.

In recent years, he has enjoyed tooling around his neighborhood in his golf cart, calling friends and family to see what was going on, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He loved watching Gunsmoke, scratcher tickets and banana popsicles. He always had a joke ready to tell. Eldon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
