Eli Hostetler, Jr.

March 11, 1951 — July 23, 2015

FARMINGTON - Eli Hostetler, Jr., of Farmington, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home at the age of 64. He was born March 11, 1951 in Burton, Ohio to the late Eli Hostetler Sr. and Amanda (Miller) Hostetler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, David Hostetler and a brother-in-law Vern Garber. Eli spent his growing up years in Ohio and Ontario, Canada. He began his working career in construction and later owned and managed a chicken farm both in Tennessee and Arkansas. In 2008 he relocated to Farmington, Missouri where he opened the Ole Tyme Pantry. Eli had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking with the many customers at his store. He loved being a grandpa and one of his favorite pastimes was taking the grandchildren on Kubota rides. He loved the Lord and accepted Christ as his Saviour as a teenager. Eli was a Pastor and faithful member of the Farmington Mennonite Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Katie (Coblentz) Hostetler; five children, Micah (Kim) Hostetler, Lori (Jonny) Yoder, Timi Hostetler, Anita Hostetler and Wendell Hostetler; four grandchildren, Laramie and Braden Yoder and Blake and Ziva Hostetler; five sisters, Sylvia (Pete) Wagler, Bertha (Richard) Miller, Ruth Hostetler, Karen Garber and Laura Hostetler; five brothers, Andy (Nancy) Hostetler, Dan (Carol) Hostetler, Mark (Cathy) Hostetler, Nate (Miriam) Hostetler and Jon (Leah) Hostetler; sister-in-law, Naomi Hostetler; father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Martha Coblentz; a host of nieces, nephews and many good friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and resuming from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Farmington Mennonite Church at 3810 Green Road (Highway 32), Farmington. Funeral services will be held in the church on Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Farmington Mennonite Cemetery.
