FARMINGTON – Francis “Francie” Carrow, a lifelong resident of Farmington, passed away April 13, 2026, at Cedarhurst at the age of 97. He was born in Farmington on October 20, 1928, to the late Orval “Sixty” Carrow and Genevieve (Antoine) Carrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Beulah (Huber) Carrow; and three brothers, Charles, Lester and Bobby Joe Carrow.

Francie attended school in Farmington and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Missouri. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force stationed in Colorado Springs. Upon returning to civilian life, Francie attained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri - Columbia. After a decade with Farmer’s Insurance, he then spent the next twenty-three years with St. Francois County Savings and Loan, twenty as President. Friends often referred to Francie as the “George Bailey” of Farmington.

He was active in many community organizations such as the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Farmington Elks where he held the title of Exalted Ruler. He was a long-time member and officer of the St. Francois Country Club. As a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Francie’s faith was a significant part of his outlook on life.

An avid gardener with a green thumb, Francie was accomplished at growing vegetables, plants and beautiful flowers. A man of few words, he was knowledgeable about many subjects, especially versed on the history of Farmington. He collected thousands of photos and newspaper articles that showed amazing history and moments from the past.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. His survivors include two sons, Stephen (Nancy) Carrow and Gerard (Sherry) Carrow; four grandchildren, Thomas Carrow, Samuel (Stephanie) Carrow, Melissa (Cody) Carrow, and Cierra Carrow; and three great- grandchildren, Elliott, Ava and Melody. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel, Farmington, Missouri on Friday May 1, 2026, from 4 – 8 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations, if desired, may be given in Francie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
