George Bryan Lockridge

May 7, 1925 — June 29, 2015

FARMINGTON- George Bryan Lockridge of Farmington, passed away, Monday, June 29, 2015, at Parkland Health Center Weber Road at the age of 90 years. He was born George Lindsay Bryan, Jr. on May 7, 1925 at Gallatin, MO son of the late George Lindsay and Hilda (Suess) Bryan. On September 1, 1933 at Farmington he was adopted by the late Theodore and Grace (Nichols) Lockridge and became George Bryan Lockridge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Gene Antoinette (Beckermann) Lockridge. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. Following his service he went on to attend University and eventually earned his Masters of Education. He was for many years a teacher of History and Government at Farmington High School, later becoming a principal and superintendent. After retiring from the education system he became an independent real-estate broker in the Farmington area. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington, the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his second wife, Hazel (Sitze) Lockridge of Farmington, a daughter Linda (& Andy) Patton of St. Louis, two grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation for George Lockridge will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Visitation will resume on Friday after 7 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Paul Odenthal officiating. Interment will be in the New Calvary Cemetery at Farmington with full military honors. Memorials, if desired may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Joseph Parish in Farmington.
