Harold "Supe" Cureton

Harold Gene Supe Cureton, 74, of Rocky Ridge Ranch passed away on June 13, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on November 25, 1931, the son of the late Richard and Theresa (Stadie) Cureton. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Bill, Les, Walter, Juanita, Naomia and Luetta. Supe is survived by his loving companion of 26 years, Betty West, sons, Lonnie (Michele) Cureton and Harold Lee (Jemi Ann) Cureton, daughters, Susan Meyer, Crystal MacDonald and Angie (Mrs. Denny) Gonz, step-children, Mark (Rachell) West and Sandy (Mrsl Howard) Ables, seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and very special nephew, Will (Claire) Miller. Numerous other relatives and many good friends also survive. Supe proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps. After returning home he worked for Orville Barwick at the Mobil gas station in Farmington. Later Supe purchased the station and ran it for many years. He also drove a school bus for Farmington R-7 for many years. In the mid 80s Supe worked at Rocky Ridge Ranch selling lake lots. Before retiring Supe and Betty also ran the Bait Shop at the Ridge. Supe spent his spare time hunting, gardening and fishing out on the lake with Betty and their dog, Joe. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. A funeral service will follow at the Cozean Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Cureton officiating. Burial will be at Rhodes Chapel Cemetery in Madison County. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to the Humane Society of the Ozarks.
