James Eugene "Sleepy" Triplett, Sr. of High Ridge passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, at the age of 64 years. He was born on July 12, 1945, at St. Francois County, son of the late Thomas William and Eliza A. (Cowley) Triplett. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Triplett, a son-in-law, Lenny H. Steinmetz, and a father-in-law, Frank W. Holliday. James was a member of the Elks Lodge #2455 of High Ridge where he was currently seated as Esteemed Lecturing Knight, and the UAW Local 110 (Retiree) He enjoyed fishing, miniature golf and calling bingo, but most of all enjoyed being with his family. In 2008 James retired from Chrysler Corporation where he was a welder/driver for 31 years. On March 5, 1988 he married Judy Holliday in Farmington who survives. In addition to his wife, James is also survived by children, Angela (Mrs. Robert "Buddy") Allen, of Branson, James Triplett, Jr. and his wife Lesley, of Arnold, Matthew Triplett and his wife Candace, of Bonne Terre, Kurt White and Tiffany White both of High Ridge; a special step-daughter, Jeannie Helms of Park Hills; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; six sisters; three brothers; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Jean Holliday; an aunt and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Visitation will resume Monday, September 14, beginning at 7 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens, Farmington, MO. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Anthony's Cancer Center or to the charity of the donor's choice.
