James “Jay” Rollin Lamers of Farmington MO passed away peacefully at his home in Farmington on August 14th at the age of 51. He was a beloved Father, Father-In-Law, Grandfather, Brother, Brother-In-Law, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, and Friend, known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unforgettable laugh.
He was born in Farmington on August 29, 1973, to the late Cynthia Sebastian and Randall Lamers. Jay lived his life with deep love for his family and a work ethic that never wavered. He proudly worked at SRG Global for over 15 years, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable team member.
Jay was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. His compassion and easy-going nature made him a joy to be around. He had a way of lighting up the room with his laughter, and if he wasn’t making you laugh, then he was probably quizzing you on music trivia or asking, “you know what I’m saying?” with a grin.
Jay’s happy places were on the golf course, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with his loved ones. He cherished watching baseball and football, even if it meant yelling at the tv when his team was down. He also loved music and never missed a chance to challenge his family to name the artist of whatever song was playing.
More than anything he loved his children. His daughter Sierra Alexander and son Anthony White were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a proud father-in-law to Josh Alexander and Melissa White; grandfather to Kay, Khloe, and Karson; proud brother to Mandy Smith; proud brother-in-law to Rob Smith and proud uncle to Randi, Scotty and Christopher. Jay is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will forever remember his warm heart and gentle spirit. He was truly one of the nicest people you could ever meet and someone that could leave a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
