James William Hill, Sr.

DOE RUN - James William Hill, Sr. of Doe Run passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in Desloge at the age of 93 years. He was born December 4, 1920 in St. Louis, son of the late William S. and Myra (MacBeth) Hill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Margaret (Huckins) Hill, and a sister, Dr. Maysie J. Hughes. Mr. Hill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army -Air Force during World War II. He owned and operated Hill's Television & Repair Service in and around the Doe Run area for many years. He was an avid rock collector and a certified gemologist. He was a member of the Mineral Area Gem & Mineral Society and a member of the Doe Run United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his son and daughter-in law James William Jr. and Martha (Marty) Hill of Doe Run, daughter Cathryn Jane Hill of Doe Run, two grandsons, James Stephen Hill and wife Danyelle of Anthem, AZ and Eric Jason Hill of Los Angeles, CA, a great grandson Aidan Hill of Anthem, AZ and numerous other relatives and friends. Per Mr. Hill's request there will be no visitation or formal services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
