Janice Dorman

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Janice Dorman Connor, passed away on May 16, 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Connor; her parents, Ivie and Neva (Flaherty) Dorman; her brother, Bobbie Lynn Dorman; and her brother-in-law, William Barry.

Janice was born on June 10, 1946, and grew up in southern Louisiana. She studied music performance with an emphasis on Baroque music at University of Southwestern Louisiana, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Janice was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed being involved at her daughter’s school, teaching Sunday School, and volunteering at church. In later years, she served as music director at Christ the King Parish and volunteered at the Classical Music Station, both in Kilgore, Texas. In her final years, living with her daughter’s family, Janice enjoyed reading aloud to her grandchildren and helping them practice piano.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Meghan Arnett (Justus) of Farmington; her grandchildren, Henry, Jack, Evelyn, Benjamin, James, Grace and Caleb Arnett; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Barry of Clearwater, FL; and her brothers-in-law, William Connor (Debi) of Monmouth Beach, NJ and Robert Connor (Rose) of Reading, MA. The family would like to thank Heart and Soul Hospice for their excellent care of Janice.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington with Father Ryan Weber as celebrant.
