Jean Duncan

September 15, 1922 — March 3, 2016

FARMINGTON Jean Evelyn Duncan, of Farmington passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born September 15, 1922 to the late Harrison Otto Duncan and Luella (Pitchford) Duncan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Venus Ransom, Hilda Oliver and Anna Livingston and three brothers, Glen Duncan, Robert Duncan and Walden Duncan.

Jean grew up in the Mine La Motte area and went on to work in St. Louis where she worked for Brown Shoe Company for many years. In later years she worked for Parkland Hospital from where she retired. In her younger years she was an avid reader of mystery magazines and she also enjoyed horses.

Survivors include two sisters, Jewell Watkins of Farmington and Betty Duncan of St. Louis; a brother, Richard (Helen) Duncan of Farmington; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Madison County. View the online obituary and share your memories at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
