John William Hughes

FARMINGTON John William Hughes, of Farmington, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 63. He was born March 28, 1953 in Oswego, New York to the late Marion and Erma (Oliver) Hughes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wade, a brother Robert "Bob" Wade, and a brother-in-law, Paul Harper.

John graduated High School in Tampa, Florida. He worked for thirty one years as a postal clerk for the United States Post Office from where he retired. He was also a member of VFW Post 5741 Auxiliary.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 18 years, Paula Jean (Rifenbark) Hughes; his children, Melissa (Charles Gardner) Johnson, Shawn (Kyla) Hughes and Kenneth (Natasha) Johnson; grandchildren, Helena, Seth, Ari'ana, Karter and Natalie. A sister, Dona Harper; a brother, James "Jim" (Hazel) Wade; nieces, Susan (Chuck) Hyre, Shellie and Diane Wade; nephews Steven , Alan & Bernard John (BJ) Wade. Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law, Helen and Ralph Rifenbark; two sisters-in-law, Grace Rifenbark and Carrie (Dale) Byykkonen; a brother-in-law, Michael (Kristen) Rifenbark; a sister-in-law, Judy Wade. and many friends and neighbors.
