John William Yount

John William Yount of Fredericktown passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the age of 85. He was born on January 25, 1928, at Broken Bow, OK, son of the late Maben Yount and Pauline (Kennard) Carroll. John was a member of the Bethel United Baptist Church. He and his wife, Dorothy spent many years singing gospel music together for the Lord. They traveled to many destinations with their singing ministry. John worked for Nooter Boiler for 39 years. After his retirement in 1991 he and Dorothy moved to their farm near Fredericktown. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed farm life. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Mae (Wylie) Yount, his children, Richard (Jeanne) Yount of St. Charles, MO, Pat (Gary) Mosher of Wentzville, MO, Steven (Carol) Yount of Montgomery, TX, Debra Filla of St. Louis, MO, Kathy (Jeffrey) Orr of O'Fallon, MO, and Kimberly (Greg) Vest of St. Charles, MO; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday morning from 7 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverends Gary Mathis and Bob Graham officiating.
