John Carrol Wright Sr.

John Carrol Wright Sr. passed away on June 6, 2025, in Farmington, Missouri, at the age of 84 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 12, 1940, in Anniston, Missouri, to the late Harold and Opal (Reid) Wright.

John was a certified public accountant who founded Maloney, Wright and Robbins Accounting Firm in the 1970s. Colleagues and clients alike respected him for his integrity and expertise in the field.

John was a man of Christian faith, formerly attending St. Paul Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He enjoyed playing poker, staying fit through running and workouts, and was a boxer in high school. An avid reader, he was partial to John Grisham books. 

He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Susannah Cantrell (husband, Brad Holmes) of Half Moon Bay, California, and Caroline Wright of Farmington, his grandchildren, Kristopher Penuel of Farmington, Carmen Cantrell of Dekalb, Illinois, and Ellen Cantrell of Poplar Grove, Illinois and his great-grandchildren, Angelo Cantrell, Emerie Cantrell, Jesse Cantrell, Jasiah Wilson, and Odette Daniels, his cousins, Joe Thomas, Darius Wright, and Michael Carver, among many other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Opal (Reid) Wright, his son, John Carrol Wright, Jr., and his cousin, Reginald Carver.

Visitation for John Carrol Wright Sr. will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cozean Memorial Chapel and Crematory, located at 217 West Columbia Street, Farmington, Missouri. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.
