Jon Cozean

The Farmington community mourns the loss of Dr. Jon Cozean, a respected funeral director, historian, writer, and lifelong advocate for his hometown. Dr. Cozean passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 87, after a life devoted to service, scholarship, and civic leadership. A full obituary will be published soon.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Farmington. Interment will follow the funeral service at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington.
