Her service to others was a reflection of her faith and of the compassion and genuine concern she carried for those around her.
Josephine Rustemeyer, age 93, passed away on September 20, 2026, leaving behind a loving family and a legacy built upon faith, devotion, compassion, and the belief that family is one of life’s greatest blessings.
Josephine was born on July 26, 1933, in Frankenstein, Missouri, to Joseph and Regina Troesser. She was the second oldest of nine children, where the importance of caring for and supporting one another became a value she carried throughout her life.
Josephine married Harold Rustemeyer in 1956. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage until Harold’s passing in 2006. They raised five children – John, Glenn, Joyce, Ralph, and Colleen.
Josephine is survived by her children, John (Kelley), Glenn, Joyce (Gregory Swaller), and Colleen (Kevin Boewe); her grandchildren; great grandchildren; her sister, Florence (Dan Schaeffer); her daughter-in-law, Monica Rustemeyer; and her sisters-in-law, Jane Troesser and Vicki Troesser.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Rustemeyer; her son, Ralph Rustemeyer; her parents, Joseph and Regina Troesser; and other siblings.
Josephine was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Brian and Joshua Rustemeyer; Michael, Connor, Noah, Madisun, and Summer Rustemeyer; Nicole Fricke and Kyle Boewe; Omily and Nyvene Rustemeyer.
She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren: Carter and Grayson Rustemeyer, Addilyn and Hudson Fricke, Harper Boewe, and Ellie and Brynlie Rustemeyer.
Josephine’s caring spirit reached beyond her family. Through her church, she devoted her time to ministering to residents of area care facilities, offering companionship, comfort, and kindness to those she visited. Her service to others was a reflection of her faith and of the compassion and genuine concern she carried for those around her.
Although her family will deeply miss her presence, the values Josephine held dear will continue in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so dearly – a family that will continue to carry forward the love and devotion she and Harold instilled in their lives.
Her faith guided her. Her family sustained her. Her love will remain with them always.
