Joyce Marie Estes of Farmington passed away suddenly on January 30, 2026, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 87. She was born on October 13, 1938, in Flat River, Missouri, to the late Earl Joseph and Mattie (Barker) Souden.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Scott (Chris) Estes of Alabaster, Alabama, and David Estes of Farmington, Missouri; her grandchildren, Emily Estes, Dylan (Tyeler) Estes, and Katelyn (Cameron) Kelley; and her great-grandchildren, Blayk, Serenity, Titus, Hayden, Malaki, Dalton, Trevor, Tobias, Luther, Quentin and Joyce. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley (Paul) Estes of Farmington, Missouri, and Donna Bay of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; her former daughter-in-law, Lorri Stocum; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ronald Luther Estes who passed away on July 24, 2024, her brother, Bobby Ray Souden, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Bay.

Joyce was previously employed as a secretary with Emerson Electric. Known lovingly by her family as the matriarch, she was a devoted wife and a doting mother who truly served as the cornerstone of her family, always placing their needs before her own. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, working puzzles, and was an avid reader.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be shared at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
