Judy Louise Bromley, of Farmington, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on March 31, 1948, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late John and Roena (Sutherlin) Gruner.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Albert "Tom" Bromley; her sons, Lance (Kazumi) Hunt of Japan and Lucas (Cheryl) Hunt of Farmington; and her stepchildren, Carolyn Edgar of Bonne Terre and Thomas (Diane) Bromley of Farmington. She was a proud grandmother of four and a beloved great-grandmother to Natalie Grace Ellis-Winther and Keira Reign Ellis-Winther.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Jo Ann Skiles of Farmington, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Jo Gruner, and her brother-in-law, Marvin Skiles.
Judy was the very first employee of the Farmington Correctional Center. She dedicated 21 years of service to the Department of Corrections before retiring in 2007 from the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre. She was known for her warm heart, her deep love for family, and her compassion for others. Judy especially adored her great-granddaughters, Natalie and Keira, and shared a lifelong love for animals—especially dogs.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with Judy’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
