Larry M. Huber Sr., 82, of Perryville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on July 10, 1943, in Perryville, Missouri, the youngest of four children born to Valle and Elva (Rabold) Huber. On July 20, 1963, he married Kathleen M. (Huck) Huber of Ste. Genevieve. Together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with family, hard work, laughter, and love.

Larry and Kathy raised their family while enjoying square dancing and time spent with friends. Larry was a natural storyteller and never missed a chance to share tales of hunting, frog gigging, and coon hunting—stories that were always followed by laughter and his trademark grin. He also loved reminiscing about growing up in the bottoms, farming, and good times shared with friends.

A gifted woodworker, Larry took pride in crafting something special for each family member, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for generations. A true jack of all trades, he also enjoyed fishing and making wine and moonshine.

At just 12 years old, Larry began working on the family farm alongside his brother. Farming remained a constant throughout his life for the next 71 years. He later started a vineyard and winery and continued running cattle alongside his son and grandson until his passing.

Larry was a lifetime charter member of the Elks Lodge #2701 of Perryville, proudly serving as one of its first Tylers. He was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Sereno.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Huber; his children, Debbie (Jim) Hudson, Larry “Pete” (Julie) Huber Jr., and Karen (Douglas) Zoellner; eight grandchildren, Misty LaRose, Eric Huber, Alicia (Scot) Blythe, Garrett (Tonya) Zoellner, Logan Hudson, Brandi Huber, Connor Zoellner, and Brooke (Tyler Moll) Huber; five great-grandchildren, Skyler, MiamiJade, Caroline, Ella Kaye, and Josephine; his sister, June Leuckel; his cousin, Eric “Todd” Huber; his mother-in-law, Pearl Fellows of Ste. Genevieve, age 103; his brother-in-law, Melvin (Jody) Huck; sister-in-law, Patricia Huber and many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Valle and Elva Huber; his brother, Dale “Bud” Huber; his sister, Patricia “Patsy” Huber; his fathers-in-law, Cyril Huck and John Fellows; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Huck and Carl “Corky” Leuckel.
