Lee Yeager

FARMINGTON Lee Yeager of Farmington passed away April 3, 2016 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 85. He was born April 7, 1930 in St. Francois County the son of the late Lewis T. and Hattie (McCormack) Yeager. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Emmett, Charles, Forrest and James Yeager and three sisters, Hilda Silvey, Genevieve Yeager and Eileen David.

A lifelong resident of the Farmington area, Lee was proud to be a local farmer and a retired member of the Ironworkers Local 396. He served his nation during the Korean War with the U. S. Army. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 5896 and Farmington Elks Lodge No. 1765.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys (Gibson) Yeager; two sons, Lewis Yeager and Kevin Yeager, both of Farmington; a step-son, Mike Bequette of Park Hills; a step-daughter, Sonia Bequette of St. Louis; two sisters, Ann Pinkston of Farmington and Dorothy Bogue of McAllen, Texas; a sister-in-law Betty (Magura) Yeager; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews as well as other relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial visitation at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 1 3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. At 2:30 p. m. there will be a VFW service followed by an Elks Lodge service just prior to the service. Memorials in Mr. Yeager's name, if desired, may be made to the charity of donor's choice. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
