Leo Paul Montgomery

FARMINGTON Leo Paul Montgomery of Farmington passed away at his home February 10, 2017 at the age of 95 years. He was born in Leadwood, Missouri on July 18, 1921 to the late Harry and Alta (Penberthy) Montgomery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Geraldine "Geri" Montgomery in 2014; his daughters, Paulette "Polly" Kientzy in 2015 and Sharon Sue Pipkin in 2000; six sisters and four brothers.

Leo was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. After return to civilian life, he worked as a industrial xray technician for St. Louis Testing Lab where he worked with the construction of the St. Louis Gateway Arch. He also was employed by Boeing Corporation prior to his retirement in 1981. He and Geri enjoyed retirement to the fullest having spent many winters in South Texas. Through the years he was instrumental in the start up of many Christian Churches in the St. Louis area and currently was an Elder at the Libertyville Christian Church.

Survivors include his children, Dixie Paul Montgomery, Diane (Jack) Martin, Patricia (Samuel) Dane and Gerald (Toni) Pipkin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Frankie Conway.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 12 noon followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Paul Odenthal officiating.
