FARMINGTON Leslie "Les" Ray Dyck of Farmington passed away on February 11, 2024, at Mercy Jefferson in Festus at the age of 83. He was born in Wolf Point, Montana on October 9, 1940, to the late Herbert Dyck and Maria Alise (Toavs) Dyck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Hock; brothers, Harold Dyck and Glen Dyck; stepdaughters, Tina Steward and Tammy Pryor; and step granddaughter, Pamela Pryor Brush. Les grew up in Eastern Montana where he graduated from Luster Academy. Later Les moved to Kalispell, Montana where he began a lifelong career in construction. He was a very talented woodworker and carpenter. His carpentry skills were not only his profession but were his passion and his calling. Les was an avid pilot and aircraft enthusiast. He built, re-built, and flew light aircraft and in fact, walked away from two airplane crashes during his lifetime. He also enjoyed raising and breaking horses, and rebuilding cars and motorcycles. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia "Pat" (Brooks) Dyck; his children, Lonnie (Sheila) Dyck and Lesly (Jerry) Smith; stepdaughters, Brenda (Larry) Lacey, Melissa Kegley, Teresa Queen, and Kelly Wamsley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Doris) Dyck; sister, Mavis Peterson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends on Friday, February 16, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel followed by a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
