Marie "Lanell" Gibbs

Marie “Lanell” Gibbs, of Farmington, entered eternal rest unexpectedly on October 28, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born on January 26, 1939, in Fredericktown, Missouri, to the late Lester and Beulah (Simmons) Quinton.

Lanell is survived by her children, Janeane (Jeff) Lang, Lori (Dave) Sitzes, and Craig (Carla) Gibbs; her grandchildren, Taylor (Melissa), Brooke (Carter), Wyatt, Ben, Sydney, and Lauren (Brendon); and her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Stella. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Janice Quinton; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, Lanell was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Gibbs; and her siblings, Rosalie Quinton, Tom Quinton, and Jim Quinton.

Lanell worked for many years as a cashier at Harps, formerly known as Country Mart, in Farmington, where she became a familiar face to many in the community. In her spare time, she enjoyed going for car rides and listening to gospel quartet music. Above all, Lanell treasured spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

A private graveside service will be held at Knights of Pythias Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bill. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Valle Catholic Schools, 40 N. Fourth Street, Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670.
