Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Eva Stecher; her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Carl George Pruetzel, who passed away in 2020; and her cherished canine companion, Emma.
Sue graduated from the historic St. Elizabeth Academy in St. Louis. After marrying Carl, she wholeheartedly embraced life as a farmer’s wife and devoted stay-at-home mother. She found great joy in caring for her family and home and was known for her hard work and dedication. She enjoyed canning, gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, and keeping a beautiful, tidy home. Sue was rarely still, always finding something to do and someone to care for.
Above all, Sue will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose family was at the heart of her life. She was a faithful Catholic and a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she also served as a housekeeper in the rectory for several years.
Sue enjoyed fishing, dancing, and traveling the world with Carl. Their life together was filled with love, family, and many cherished memories. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband and resting in the peace of eternal life.
