Maxine Price

Mackie Price of Farmington passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center at the age of 84. She was born on September 16, 1926, at Doe Run the daughter of the late Floyd E. Hulsey Sr.and Elizabeth (Yount) Hulsey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband of 47 years, Donald Lee Price and three brothers, Earl, Willis and Alvin Hulsey. She was a lifelong resident of the area where she graduated from Doe Run High School in 1944. She often joked that she retired twice from Mineral Area College where she was employed for more than 40 years as a bookkeeper. She was an avid reader. When she wasn't reading she loved playing golf and meeting with her friends at the "Breakfast Bunch" from the Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as their treasurer for more than a decade. She was a former president of the Ashbrook Homeowner's Association and one of the founding members of the St. Francois County Country Club. Survivors include a son and wife, Gregory Lee and Sherry Price of Desloge and a daughter, Melinda "Mimi" Price of Farmington; a grandson, Joshua Price and his wife Tiffany of Bridgeport, NY; a great-granddaughter, MacKenzi Price; two sisters, Barbara Fitz Merseal and Helen "Suzi" Noltkamper, both of Farmington and two brothers, Cecil Hulsey and his wife Jean of Farmington and Floyd Hulsey, Jr. and his wife Grace of Sullivan; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Willis "Babe" Hulsey of Farmington; a special best friend, Mrs. Nora Hedgecoth of Desloge and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held in the Cozean Chapel on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Dr. Rick Broadway officiating. Private inurnment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.
