Melinda Crites

Melinda Mae Crites, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center at the age of 69. She was born on May 17, 1956, in St. Francois County, Missouri, to the late James B. and Bonnie J. (Abbott) Mitchell.

Melinda devoted many years of service as a dietary aide at the state hospital before retiring. She was a longtime and faithful member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

She will be fondly remembered by her numerous extended relatives, her church family, and her dear friends, Sharon McClure and June Stacey.

In addition to her parents, Melinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Lee Crites, who passed away on March 26, 2007, and her brother, Lynn Mitchell.

Melinda enjoyed bowling, had a deep love for animals, and was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Bob Well and Pastor Jonathan Brown. A celebration of her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 1710 Doubet Road, Farmington, MO.
