Melissa Ann Priest, of Bonne Terre, entered eternal rest on May 17, 2026, at St. Joe Manor, at the age of 66. She was born on June 25, 1959, in Festus, Missouri, to the late Don and Virginia (Mangin) Hughes.

She is survived by her significant other of 45 years, Nelson “Ray” Friedmeyer; her son, Daniel Priest (Ashley Reece); her daughter, Tonya Priest; her grandchildren, Marcus Harrison, Joshua Priest, Jocelyn Priest, Amiah Pittman, Jaxton Pittman, and Dewayne Harrison; her great-grandchild, Deshawn Harrison; her siblings, James Hughes (Virginia), Brenda Sims, and Sue Tharp; and her brother-in-law, Richard Crosby. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends who will fondly remember her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Donna (Hughes) Crosby, Don “Butch” Hughes, Larry Hughes, and Terry Hughes.

Melissa was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, taking vacations, and spending time with her grandchildren. Melissa will be remembered for her loving heart, devotion to her family, and the many cherished memories she created with those she loved.
