Michael Sherrill

Michael "Mike" Lynn Sherrill of Farmington passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014, at the age of 64. He was born on August 24, 1949, at Bonne Terre, son of the late Reverend R. A. Sherrill and Lela (Ruble) Sherrill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Sherrill and Dale Sherrill and by two sisters, Janice Mayberry and Patsy Hinkle. Mike was a life-long resident of Farmington. He lived a life of service adding humor and directive thought to the people he served that included the Farmington Jaycees, Farmington Elks, Farmington City Council, Farmington School Board and the Farmington Area Swim Team-- to name just a few. Mike was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he left a permanent mark on the various boards and committees on which he served. He will be remembered for his love for the Lord and his dedication to family that included his St. Paul family. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him, including his wife, of 38 years, Sharon (Oetting) Sherrill; two sons, Andy Sherrill and wife, Bethany, and Donald Sherrill and wife, Andrea; four granddaughters, Emilee, Mia, Ava and Abby; a sister, Wilma Hansen; two brothers, Wayne Sherrill and wife, Vivian, and Ronald Sherrill and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 7 from 3 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. with Reverend Merlin Wegener and Reverend James King officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran High School.
