Nancy Marie Shy, born on April 10, 1962, in Whittier, California, peacefully departed from this world on July 2, 2025, in Farmington at her sister's home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a cherished soulmate to Rodney Francis of Farmington, and a beloved mother to her sons, Marcus (Deanna Bannister) Politte of Farmington, MO, and Lucas (Shanna) Politte of Washington, MO. Nancy took immense pride in being a grandmother to Ian and Gabe Politte, who brought her much joy. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Linda (Danny) Dalton of Farmington, MO, Karen Crews of Bellingham, WA, and Peggy (Daniel) Bray of Brownsville, KY. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember her with great fondness.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Eugene Shy and Millie Lou (McClain) Carr, as well as her loyal canine companion, Sadie, who was by her side through thick and thin.
Nancy previously worked at Presbyterian Manor in the kitchen and dining area. She enjoyed the outdoors, finding joy alongside Rodney shooting guns, riding side by sides, and cherishing moments spent at the river and at Rodney's cabin. The Shy Girls spent many days at the beach making memories with fun in the sun. She also enjoyed crafts and painting.
A visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to until time of service at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Brian Mason and Pastor Steve Lefebvre. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center, P.O. Box 45, Farmington, MO 63640 or the American Cancer Society.
