Paul Ray Young, 75, of Farmington, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Parkland Health Center, in Farmington Missouri. Paul was born on Wednesday, February 15, 1950, in Ironton, Missouri, to Charles H. and Norma Lea (Nelson) Young.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Garrison Young, and his siblings, Barbara Briley, Charles “Clay” Young, and Marcie Hoff, as well as his brother-in-law, Paul Dickey.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Rebecca “Becky” (DeGrant) Young; his son, Bill (Torie) Young; and his grandson, Andrew (fiancé Heather Bequette) Young. Siblings Debbie Horton, Lisa (Tim) Aubuchan, and Allen (Lisa) Young. Brother-in-law Clyde Briley, sister-in-law Carol Young, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Paul's career was predominantly in industrial manufacturing and molding, spending 25 years at Iron Mountain Forge, which later became Little Tikes and Rubbermaid, and retiring from Forte Products.
Paul enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing beginning at a young age. He instilled his love of the outdoors in his sons and grandson. Many deer seasons were spent with his sons, nephews, and brothers in a cabin in Pomona, Missouri, where he would bring home not only a deer but some tall tales. He loved music, old westerns, and, in his later years, working puzzles and entertaining his family with his quick wit and stories. Lest we forget his constant K9 pal, Oreo, with whom he spent numerous hours of lap-sitting and watching the neighborhood as they listened to music in the garage.
Words can't express how much this good man will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. Paul Ray, rest high on that mountain until we meet again. A memorial gathering will be held at Twin Oaks Event Center, 6470 Hwy F, Farmington, MO 63640, on January 31, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to The American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
